Built for operators, not for show

I built these because I got tired of watching good operators lose margin to problems that have knowable answers. Wrong HS code, missed FTA eligibility, landed cost that blows up after the invoice is already signed — these aren’t mysteries. They’re just tedious to work out by hand, and most of the existing tools are either too expensive, too generic, or owned by someone trying to upsell you a consulting retainer.

So I’m building five. Free. Open source. No email wall, no “book a demo” gate. You use it, it either helps you or it doesn’t, and either way you walk away with something.

Status: in progress. I’m building these in public, one at a time, starting this week. I’d rather ship something real and tell you exactly where it stands than promise a polished suite and make you wait silently. Below is what’s coming and why each one exists.

1. HA.RS.QO - HS Code ClassifierComing soon Describe your product, or upload a photo of it, and get a suggested HS code with a confidence score and the duty implications across the US, EU, and UK. Built for the moment when you’re staring at a customs form and “I think it’s probably this code” isn’t good enough — because a wrong classification can mean fines, delays, or missing an FTA rate you were actually entitled to.

2. tarifio - Tariff CalculatorComing soon Pick an HS code, pick two countries, see the duty gap. This exists because most sourcing decisions are made on supplier price alone, and nobody checks whether sourcing the same product from a different country would have saved 15-20% in duty before the order ever gets placed.

3. netto - Landed Cost CalculatorComing soon Product cost, shipping, HS code, origin and destination — in, and your actual landed cost comes out, duties stacked correctly, margin impact shown plainly. Built because too many operators find out their real margin only after the goods clear customs, when it’s far too late to do anything about it.

4. proveni - FTA Rules of Origin CheckerComing soon Tells you, plainly, whether your product actually qualifies for preferential duty treatment under USMCA, CPTPP, or CETA — and if it doesn’t yet, what’s missing. Rules of origin are where I’ve watched more deals lose money than almost anywhere else in trade, simply because nobody checked before committing.

5. COMPILA - Supplier Compliance ToolComing soon An interactive checklist with AI-guided next steps Walks through what a real compliance review should check — certificates of origin, documented HS codes, forced labor screening — and tells you exactly what to ask your supplier when something’s missing. This is the tool I wish existed every time I had to take a supplier’s word for something I had no way to verify myself.

Want early access? Subscribers get first access to each tool as it ships, plus the story of why I built it and a real walkthrough — not just a changelog.

Already using one? Reply and tell me what’s working and what’s missing. These get better because operators actually using them tell me where they break.
